Sunspots, solar cyles and the current solar minimum 

and how they relate to the climate change debacle

Al Gore has quite a reputation for being a harbinger of snow and record low temperatures just about everywhere he goes to speak about Global Warming. It has happens so frequently that the phoenominon has been given a name: The Gore Effect. In December of 2009, the UN held it's annual Global Warming summit in Copenhagen. Remember what happened there? The Gore Effect. Copenhagen is a city in Europe with a rather mild climate. It had record low temperatures over the week of the summit and it actually snowed on Christmas which has only happened a handful of times during the last century. As over 200 countries participated in the global warming summit in a couple of weeks ago in Cancun Mexico there was an unexpected reccurrance of the Gore Effect. Cancun experienced 54 degree temperatures. A record low not felt there in 100 years. This is very funny. Full of irony. I personally believe it is God's cosmic joke on the world full of arrogant people who believe global warming is being caused by mankind. (actually I feel pretty cynical about this because I personally believe 'they' don't really believe it either- Incidentally this issue is being used by the UN in a global take over- but that's besisdes the point – and probably a topic for another night.)

While it's fun to poke fun at the Gore Effect we had better come up with something more solid than that if we are going to overcome objections of others who truly have bought into this hoax. A hoax it is- as we all know. In my mind it is a criminal hoax- I don't have to explain it to you of all people.

I want to give you all a simple tool to use as a discussion point when talking with others.

Well, the topic isn't that simple- but I'm going to try to make it simple so you can use it as a quick and easy strategy to speak knowledgeably. My goal for tonight is for you to walk away with a solid enough understanding that you can make a couple of general graphs on a napkin to give your auadience “reasonable doubt” as to the cause of Global Warming. What I am about to show is somewhat controvercial- though many many more scientists are being forced to grudgingly acknowledge that it has merit. We don't have to prove absolutely to a regular joe-schmo liberal media listener that man made global warming is a lie- just create reasonable doubt.

Our sun is goiong through a very peculiar 'stage' currently that has scientists baffled- and excited.

The solar activity recently has been extremely low. Lower than low. Nearly non existant. There are several ways sun activity is measured. We are going to discuss two.

1. Conveyor belt

This picture shows how the outer and inner layers of the sun interact. Basically the sun hasa tidal flow- like the oceans of earth- but the flow runs outside to inside and then back out again. It takes the stuff from the outer layer and cycles it back into the core. Then it shoots it back out. Generally a complete curcuit takes about 40 years. Typically the 'conveyor belt' carries the flow at a rate of about 3 meters per second. Recently the conveyor belt has slowed way way down to about ½ the speed.

The speed of the conveyor belt affect the second area of activity – really the main focus of our discussion- Sun spots.

The slower the conveyor belt- the less sunspots occur on the surface of the sun.

Sunspots are areas on the sun with very high magnetic activity. They form a dark spot on the surface of the sun. The first recorded mention of sunspots was about 800BC by the chinese. In the year 1610 Galilea and other scientists began making regular observations of the sun with telescopes.

The next one using a different format from 1.3.11

Scientists measure and chart sunspots every day. One of the first things they noticed was a definite patern to solar activity. The sun's magnetic activity cycles over an 11 (9-14) year cycle. Some cycles are longer than others. The longer cycles have less sunspot activity.

Notice the yellow spikes in the chart above. These represent daily sunspot counts. As you can see while they vary from day to day, a patern emerges. The red line shows the smoothed averages. Notice the last couple of years as having very little- to no sun spot activity. As you will see in a minute this is virtually unpresedented during the last 100 years or more. There are many scientists who see a link of overall earth temperatures and the sunspot activity. I think you will feel the same way. The evidence seems so obvious it's ridiculous to discount it.

Below are the charts for the last 50 years. Rember the beginning of the 'Gore' era? Early to mid-1990's? See the major spike? It coincided with some pretty hot and dry years. Remember the droughts here in PA over those years? Notice how the last few winters seemed longer than others? How the last couple of springs seemed interminably cold? Check out the last couple of years of sunspot activity.

Let's go back a little further. . .

This chart goes back to 1700. You can see the variety of sun cycles. If you look at the early 1800's and 1900's you can see another correlation with well known teperature and sunspot correlations.

Since these charts don't quite finish the picture, let's look a little further back. Did you remember about the dates back to the early 1600's when Galileo and other scientists began making regular observations through telescopes? So? What happened to all that data? The sunspot activity DISAPPEARED around 1635 and stayed inperceptable until about 1710. This phoenominon is called the Maunder Minimum.

The Maunder Minimum coincides eactly with the period caled the Little Ice Age. A very interesting fact about sunspots is that the more there are the hotter the surface of the sun. The sunspots themselves are cooler but when the magnetic activity disperses the sunspots it releases a fair amount of heat. Enough to keep the sun nice and 'bright'. During the Maunder Minimum the lack of spots actually dimmed the sun.

The issue of the Maunder Minimum as well as the other cold periods mentioned are well established scientific fact. The sun activity is widely accepted to be correlated with earth temperature.

The climate change scientists acknowlegde this as absolutely true. BUT they say that now man made CO2 emissions supercede the affects of the sun. Imagine the arrogance of THAT. Seriously!!?? Maybe if there were more cars and industry earlier in history we could have avoided the Maunder Minimum and mankind would have been saved from a terrible period of suffering and wide spread death and starvation. Hehe. . . That's absurd.

Now we have looked at history. Let's look at the predictions for this current sun cycle. Incidentally- as we are going to see in a minute- NASA has made all sorts of - “oh we have a consensus on this prediction of the sun's activity and they state it with dead seriousness. But as we are IN the new sun cycle the prediction looks like this:

Scientist are seeing extremely low sun activity and the weather seems to match- though I don't expect the last couple of years worth of lack of sun spots to have cooled the earth as far as it is going to. I think there is a possible delayed effect when it comes to cooling.

Compare this sun cycle to the early 18 and 1900's. Kind of makes you go – hmmmm. . .There are a very few scientists who are daring to suggest another cooling period like we haven't seen in over a hundred years. Time to knuckle down, folks. As scientists are looking even farther in advance they see the next sun cycle to be even lesser than this one we just started.

Now let's get back to the predictions of the “experts” at NASA. Look through the years at the confidently predicted beginning dates for the cycle we just started. Look at the numbers of how many sunspots they predicted- and now look at the reality.

These are the folks who are supposed to be the saviors – the best of the best of what science has to offer us. Astrophysicists for pete's sake. Obama is listening to these people and making policy to fit this drivel- or as I think- they are making the drivel to fit the policy. Climatologists who do not hold logically to this 'established' solar priciple are selling you the brooklyn bridge. It's completely illogical and I wonder if they see it.

I'm kind of annoyed at them. It's like the Gore effect. But on a massive scale. There is a reason I wat to escape to warmer waters- but if they keep on insisting they are more powerful than the sun- and God Himself we are going to be into one cold cold 22-50 years or so. After all. It's not rocket science.

Rally for 2012

Okay! I'm excited to say that all but 1 of the candidates we actively supported got elected to PA spots!! Congratulations to Tom Corbett, Pat Toomey, Joe Pitts, Jim Gerlach, Mike Folmer, Mark Gillen, Dave Maloney, Jerry Knowles, and Mike Tobash!!! I'm proud to have been even a teeny tiny support to you. 

We, the volunteers from the Berks County Tea Party, had very very exciting time at a Rally Friday October 29 at the Reading Airport. The turn out was great! About 30, if not more of us showed up to help. We did everything we could to make the rally a success. If you are one of those who helped at the rally- Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.  We would never been able to accomplish what we did without you. To those two women who helped me with my kids- thank you so so very much.

I have a personal note here. I had the absolute privilege of being the future First Lady of PA's personal escort for the rally. As a result of my 'job' I got to meet and spend considerable time in the room with all of the above mentioned guys as well as 3 other Governors and Pat Toomey's wife (among others). There was Governor Pawlenty from Minnesota, Chris Christie Governor of New Jersey and Governor Haley Barbour of Mississippi. 

I did not get to spend any time talking with Governor Pawlenty but I DID get to talk with Governors Chris Christie and Haley Barbour. Governor Christie is the real deal, folks! I looked him dead in the eyes and he holds a steady honest gaze. He stated his philosophy to me as the fact that he wants to be a real guy. He wants to be who he is and not have pretense. He stated to me that those who use pretense always get found out. I can tell you from the small amount of time with him I was very impressed with the fact that what you see is what you get.

Governor Haley Barbour. I don't think I can sum him up properly except to say how privileged I am to have met him. He is a fine personable southern gentleman. I can't exactly put my thoughts into words because it wasn't so much of what he said, but who he seems to be. I asked him if he was up for re-election and he told me his term was up. Then I asked him what he was going to do and he made reference to the possibility to a run at the presidency. I thought he was half way kidding, but it doesn't seem to be so. From what I have seen recently I think he may not have been joking.

Governor Haley- if you make a run for the White House I'll support you to my dying breath. I'd give my right arm to help you in any way I can.

I had a very brief but interesting conversation with Pat Toomey. Let me first say how honored I feel to have met him. Thank the Lord Pat Toomey is about to be named Senator Toomey. Sestak would have been a nightmare. Toomey thanked us Tea Party people for our involvement in this election and told me in no uncertain terms that we- the Tea Party- MUST hold those we elected to accomplishing and voting what they said they stood for. I told him we have every intention of holding their feet to the fire- and also mentioned the fact that we WILL boot them out of office if they continue to govern out of the will of the people.

The general feeling I got from the group as a whole was thankfulness for the Tea Party energy. Energy and enthusiasm that is sustained and purposeful accomplishes great things. 

So. Tuesday night was not the end of the war, but only a successful campaign battle. One thing I pointed out over and over again to those guys was that we at the Tea Party will not stop Tuesday night. Wednesday morning begins the push for 2012.

Get ANGRY and Volunteer!

I was listening to Dr. David Jeremiah as he was speaking about a book he wrote called, “The Fall of the American Economy”. He threw around some numbers I am going to share with you. We are going to look at the situation with the interest we owe as a nation.

First, let me start off with this. Do you have a mortgage? I do. I'm trying to sell my house and I had to look at how much we owe on the house to determine how much we absolutely MUST get from the sale of the home. We have lived in the house for about 3 years. I have paid over $43,000 for the privilege of living in my own home. Want to know how much of that went toward principle? About $4,000. So much for it being better to own than rent. I'm sure you can relate. It's the same with our credit cards and auto loans. The amount of money you will pay to get out of debt is far greater than the money you borrowed.

I am sure you are aware that we beg and borrow money from other countries all over the world. We owe:

China 798.9 Billion

Japan 746 Billion

Oil Exporters 188 Billion

UK 230 Billion

Caribbean Banking System 169 Billion

Hong Kong 142 Billion

Brazil 156 Billion

Russia 122.5 who we had no debt with as of 2007.

In 2009 Income Tax revenues were 904 Billion Dollars.

We paid 383 Billion Dollars just in INTEREST! That is about $.40 of every dollar collected last year. This is NOT PRINCIPLE!

According to the Congressional Budget Office over the next decade we will accumulate 9 Trillion dollars in new debt. 4.8 Trillion of that will be in interest.

We are accumulating interest at an alarming rate:

$41 Million/hour

$690,000/minute

$11,500/second!

If the countries we owe were to raise the interest rate even 1% it would cost us and extra $80 Billion which is equal to the Energy and Education budget lines.

A principle we should consider is this:

THE BORROWER SERVES THE LENDER

The longer we go without fixing this the more we put ourselves under the control of the nations we owe.

In a book called, “A New Economic Disorder” author Larry Bates states this: “Today in America we are living in a fool's paradise. . .the money manipulators have successfully created the illusion of prosperity through the most massive creation of debt and paper money that has ever been seen in the history of the world. That debt bubble is about to burst again. . .”

The word “Trillion” is being spoken of very lightly in Washington these days. We should be VERY VERY troubled by this. Let me give you a couple of pictures of what a Trillion looks like:

A Trillion is:

A million millions

A thousand Billions

A stack of 100 $100 bills is $10,000

100 Stacks of $10,000 is 1 Million Dollars

100 Million Dollars will fit in a cube sized industrial Pallet

1 Billion Dollars will fit in 10 pallets

1 Trillion Dollars will fit on 1000 pallets which would fill an entire warehouse

How long do you think it would take to count to a trillion? Is you counted one number every second- no eating, sleeping or anything else you would count to:

31,536,000 seconds in a year

315,360,000 in 10 years

Somewhere before 32 years you will have counted to a billion

Somewhere before 64 years you will count to 2 billion.

In 500 years you will count to almost 16 billion.

It will take you nearly 32,000 years to count to 1 trillion.

In other words, the prosperity we all, as Americans rely on as an absolute truth is a deception and falsehood that absolutely MUST be revealed! It is an illusion which law makers are desperate to hide from us because if we knew we would all rise up in anger against them!

I don't know what it will take you to get angry if you aren't angry yet!

We must NOT rely upon others to bring these things to light! We must not rely on others to act. The time for action is NOW! We must DEMAND a balanced budget.

The projected deficit spending is staggering. We don't have that kind of money! We already owe more than we can afford to pay back. We MUST fight with urgency TODAY! Let's give a clear message. Overspending is NOT and option. We can't be funding all sorts of entitlement programs. We don't have the money. We can't waste money on budget killing earmarks and special pet programs. If we keep spending this way all our children and grandchildren will live in utter poverty.

You know what a Ponzi scheme is, right? The most famous pyramid schemer in our nation is Barney Madoff. His name is practically a household joke. Now the thing we need to realize is- the Federal Government is involved in exactly the same criminal activity as Madoff- only far worse! This is treason against our nation and it must be stopped! Stand up now. Work hard TODAY. Evil reigns while good men do nothing.

We are organizing an AWESOME event called Meet the Candidates. There are a number of ways you can get involved. We need a number of volunteers to accomplish our part in educating the people of good solid conservative principles. We need people who will:

• Direct traffic and parking
• Help set up chairs and decorations
• Tear Down and clean up after the event
• Man tables in the back. You will be selling pins, signing people up to join our group, collecting donations and giving our information.
• Pass out and collect ballots
• Collect questions from the crowd for the question and answer time and then boil the questions down to a few common questions
• Collect donations
• Greet guests and help with any special needs, etc. . .
• Bring flashlights

Put Your Time Where Your Mouth Is!

Let me underscore the need for some form of organizational leadership within the local Tea Party structure. This is the interesting part as to why I am involved as much as I suddenly find myself.

I got a phone call from someone from our local Tea Party asking if I would be willing to volunteer for a couple of hours in a booth at a local fair. I knew I had signed up as a member in name only. Right there at the moment of the call I had a moment of decision. I really hesitated because I did not want to commit to something else. But at that moment I realized that if I turned them down I would be a hypocrite.

While I was at the fair I became aware of an very serious issue within our local structure. There really wasn’t a structure. There were 3 people running the show for a body of over  600 members! They had been carrying the load for over a year and a half and they were burnt out. There I was. A brand new member.  I showed up for 2 hours and already saw the need to be involved. I was approached at the possibility of getting deeper involved and as I thought of it over time, I realized that this is my calling and duty for today.

Here’s the thing, folks! If you are truly FED UP and plainly scared for the future of our country stop complaining and get your rear in gear. I serious. No. I’m deadly serious.

We are at a crossroads in American history. Which way will we go? Will we continue in the freedom and independent spirit that makes us uniquely American or will we slip into a fascist (yeah. I meant fascist- more on that later) type of government? Will you wait till it’s too late?! When your children and grandchildren are grown will you be able to look them in the eyes and tell them how you did everything in your power to fight the forces that are leading to tyranny?

To those of you who are sitting around complaining I am telling you to wake up and get off your duff! Stop name calling. Stop whining. 

There is a statement in the Bible which sums it up perfectly. It is used to speak to those who say they believe but do not do anything  that reflects their belief. If you do not act like you have faith then you make your faith void.

“Faith Without Deeds is Dead”

Political will without action is worthless. So shake off the fog in your brain and make a few phone calls. Commit to the next few months to work with gusto- and then don’t quit. 2012 is coming.

Why I joined the Tea Party

I'm just a regular American Mom. I have three kids and a husband that I genuinely like being with and a very happy life right here in Pennsylvania. I have the pleasure of being a stay at home mom. I love my life just the way it is.


I never considered political involvement. NEVER. I figured all those government issues were pretty far off. I read the news, listened to talk radio, discussed issues with my friends and voted regularly. But I never had any real aspirations for participating in a political movement.


I started to get concerned a while before this administration took over. There are many things out there- that if you do a little digging- (I mean real information- not opinions and conspiracy stuff) you will find. I started my own investigation into some things a while back which were pretty alarming. But I'll get to that later. That wasn't even a catalyst for my involvement other than trying to educate others awareness. 

I guess it seemed a bit far off and really unlikely. I could not envision anything really happening any time soon. I mean really. The great experiment of a free society was a success. Liberty was a sure bet- at least for a long time. I could not really imagine that things would turn so quickly.


As soon as I heard Barack Obama speak I knew the danger. I didn't have to know about any shady Chicago style political dealings, hate filled preachers and strong ties with a domestic terrorist to immediately sense that danger. President Obama is a very smooth talker. He can sound so reasonable and caring. His voice resounded with authority- and most of all - PROMISES. Promises of a better life, a better future and that all too familiar slogan of 'hope and change'. Reaching across the aisle, open government dealings, racial reconciliation, environmental protection and conservation, the end of a nasty and unpopular war- all that and so much more promised just in his silky charismatic way. 


I really became very concerned when I realized how MANY people were falling for his act and getting caught in the trap of charisma. Handsome, black and optimistic coupled with a lot of ear tickling swarmed in and swamped the minds and hearts of the vast majority of Americans. That was one of the scariest realizations of my life. How easily a people can be swayed in a cult of personality.
Fainting in the aisles. Children rushing to publicly speak their thanks to such a wonderful man.


I should not have to point out the results of another man coming to power during another period of time in Europe, which resulted in the swift and sure demise of one form of government which lead to a nearly successful eradication of a people group. I'm not saying that President Obama is someone who would commit genocide. I'm just pointing out the fickle will of the people when caught in this kind of cult of personality.


Really, if you think about it, President Obama is not solely responsible for getting elected- is he? He didn't force his way in. He didn't take over the country during a military coup. (not yet) We the People spoke loud and clear about our desires. We the People refused to really THINK about our choice and instead 'felt' our choice during that election.


When he and his party bought the car companies, added 22 new bureaucracies to enforce (yeah, I mean enforce) our health care choices and appointed un-elected 'czars' to rule over us I got riled. When they saddled us with incomprehensible debt- also something we didn't approve I got angry. So many things made me feel powerless and defeated. None of us knew what to do. It was like drowning without a lifeguard.


But it wasn't until I realized that our government representatives were not listening to their constituents that I began to feel the urge to fight- I mean duke it OUT! The senators and congressmen who refused to meet the people in town hall meetings- the subtle (and not so subtle) messages periodically sent out to to citizens to spy on others and encouraged to report out spoken people who opposed the health care fiasco- The systematic and seemingly intentional attack upon the free market system-and apologizing to the world for who we are.


It's funny. If you know me at all you know I live and breath a contrary existence. When the White House site asked for people to e-mail reports against those who spread 'misinformation' about the health care bill- I went to the site and reported myself. I gave my address and full information and said something to the effect of: 'I hereby report myself for frequently and openly opposing the health care bill. I talk to everyone about it and even call into talk shows to spread the so-called 'misinformation'. I even go so far as to send and forward information via e-mail. This is my address and add me to the list of suspected extremist terrorist right-wing radicals.' 


I also joined the Berks County Tea Party. You know- just to be on the list of dissenters. Name only. I had no real inclination to get involved but that changed fast. More on that later. For now- bed.
